Seoul Series Opens the 2024 MLB Season
After what seemed like forever, the 2024 MLB regular season has begun. On Mar. 20, 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers & San Diego Padres opened the 2024 MLB Regular Season, playing Game 1 of the 2024 Seoul Series at the Gocheok SkyDome in Seoul, South Korea.
The Dodgers did huge things during the 2023-2024 MLB off-season, signing P/DH Shohei Ohtani, RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, OF Teoscar Hernandez, & trading for RHP Tyler Glasnow. Coming into the 2024 season, the Dodgers are viewed as favorites to win the World Series. This team now has many big names, including Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, & Freddie Freeman.
The Padres were one of the best teams in the league in 2022, defeating the Dodgers in the NLDS round of the playoffs before falling to the Phillies in the NLCS. However, in 2023, the Padres did not play up to expectations and are looking for a bounce-back season. The biggest moves of the off-season for San Diego was trading OF Juan Soto to the Yankees & trading for RHP Dylan Cease from the Chicago White Sox.

* One of the most unusual events in an MLB game caused the Dodgers to score their 3rd run of the game. While fielding a ground ball hit by Gavin Lux, Padres first basemen Jake Cronenworth’s glove broke, causing the ball to go through his glove and into right field.
