Beltway Series Clubs Unveil New Uniforms
The Orioles & Nationals Get New Uniforms for 2025
With the beginning of the MLB season around 2 weeks out, the Baltimore Orioles recently unveiled a new uniform for the upcoming season. In addition, their Beltway Series rivals, the Washington Nationals also released a new uniform for 2025 this offseason. So, let’s look at the new threads these two DMV teams will be sporting this season.
Baltimore Orioles Unveil All-Orange Throwbacks
Although the O’s gave fans a sneak peek in their promotional schedule with a Grayson Rodriguez Bobblehead featuring their new uniforms, they officially unveiled these throwbacks halfway through Spring Training.
Inspired by a 1970s Orioles uniform, these vibrant, all-orange uniforms combine the past and the present.
The all-orange uniforms were worn from 1971 to 1972— during the Brooks Robinson era. With the Hall of Famer passing away in September 2023, the Orioles are likely paying tribute to him with these uniforms. After retiring the uniforms in ‘72, the Orioles wore these uniforms for 1 game in 2010 against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.
During the years when Baltimore didn’t sport all-orange uniforms, the club still wore the orange jersey but paired it with white pants, as they did last season. This year, the Orioles will wear the orange-on-orange jersey and pants with their preexisting black hat. Now, the Orioles have new all-orange uniforms that look great, pop on the field, and bring a future of vibrant uniforms to the game while also serving as throwback uniforms to the 1970s in B’more.

Nationals Bring Back Popular Jersey
Just like their D.M.V. rival Baltimore Orioles, the Washington Nationals are bringing back an old uniform for the 2025 season. However, the Nationals wore these uniforms recently, from 2009 to 2023. Now, after 1 season of hiatus, the Nats have brought back their red alternate.
This jersey, which was very popular in past years is all-red with the Nationals’ curly W logo on the front. Due to Nike’s limit of 5 uniforms per team, the Nationals will replace their white pullover home alternates that they only wore 11 times. For the complete uniform, the Nationals will wear white pants with their red hat with the jersey.
In addition to announcing that they are bringing this uniform back, the Nationals also unveiled a “20 Years” logo to celebrate the 20th-anniversary of the Montreal Expos’ move to Washington D.C. in the early 2000s. Washington is expected to feature this logo on a patch on their hats for the 2025 season along with displaying it throughout the ballpark for the season. Washington is also receiving a brand-new City Connect uniform very soon after retiring their Cherry Blossom Uniform after the 2024 season.

Both of the Major League Baseball teams in the DMV area will be donning a uniform in 2025 that fans didn’t get to see last year, along with the Nationals recognizing the city of Washington D.C. and their fans with a new uniform that is coming soon and a 20th-anniversary patch.
Cherry blossoms were the best city connects you can’t convince me otherwise
