Kole Calhoun was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the eight round, the 264th pick of the 2010 MLB Draft out of Arizona State University. After about two years in the Angles’ farm system, Calhoun made his MLB Debut on May 22, 2012. Over the next 12 years, Cole Kalhoun played for four different teams. From the time he was drafted until he hit free agency after eight seasons, Kole Calhoun played for the Los Angeles Angels, primarily as an outfielder. Kalhoun then signed with his hometown team, the Arizona Diamondbacks as a free agent and spent the 2020 and 2021 MLB seasons in Phoenix. After becoming a free agent yet again, Calhoun signed a deal to play for the Texas Rangers for the 2022 MLB season. After becoming a free agent yet again, Calhoun signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Guardians for the 2023 season.
Over Kalhoun’s 13 year career, he hit .242/.315/.732 while posting a .994 Fielding % , win ing himself a Gold Glove Award in 2015. As well has having 1076 career hits, 179 career homeruns, & 582 career RBIs.
All in all, Kole Calhoun retired from the game of baseball on March 15, 2024, 14 years after being drafted in the 8th round by the Los Angeles Angels. Over the next 14 years, Kalhoun would play for the Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, & Cleveland Guardians.
