As tomorrow’s MLB Trade Deadline nears, we have seen more and more blockbuster trades happening. In the most recent blockbuster trade, the Yankees landed Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Miami Marlins in exchange for prospects. Chisholm, who grew up watching the Yankees, was acquired by New York on Saturday. For Chisholm, the Yankees sent Miami a trio of prospects in Agustin Ramirez, Jared Serna, & Abrahan Ramirez.
Chisholm, who spent all 4 years of the big league career in Miami hit .248/.322/.726 in 101 games with the Marlin this season. In addition to hitting well, Chisholm posted a .991 fielding percentage in center field and a 1.000 fielding percentage at second base. Even though he has been a center fielder & a second basemen in the big leagues, Chisholm has been listed as a third baseman on mlb.com for the Yankees possibly as a result of Gleyber Torres.
With this trade, the New York Yankees will continue their push for their 28th World Series Championship while the Miami Marlins start their rebuild.
