MLB Releases Spring Training Hats For 2025
MLB Unveils Each Team's Official Hat for the 2025 Cactus & Grapefruit League Games
Less than a week after Major League Baseball and New Era released the 2025 Batting Practice hats for all 30 teams, the 2025 Spring Training Hats have been unveiled. These hats, which all 30 teams will wear during this year’s spring training, are all very vibrant, with bright colors and unique designs.
Although these are “new” hats for the 2025 spring training season, the majority of the hats are the same as 2024. This is most likely because the 2024 S.T. caps were a big success— and New Era likely decided to only bring new hats to the teams whose hats weren’t liked as much. As a result of there being multiple duplicates, we are only going to look at a few of the best hats in the collection.
Rays Bring a Vibrant Look To Their Home State
Last year, the Tampa Bay Rays had an all-yellow hat, which was very bright but it was not as big as a success. This year, the Rays brought back the “sun ray” logo and the yellow colors to a hat that screams Florida. Tampa’s new hat features a baby blue base with the “sun ray” logo and a yellow bill. Inside of the yellow sun ray logo, is a little bit of white, which really looks good on the baby blue and helps tie together this hat. Overall, this is a great hat— it’s very vibrant and it looks just like a sunny day with a blue sky in Flordia.

Diamondbacks Give Hometown Crowd Bright Hat
Although this hat is returning from last year, it’s certainly one of the best in the entire collection— depending on who you are. These hats, which utilize the Diamondbacks’ alternate color of teal are very bright and vibrant. This all teal hat, which stands out in the bright Arizona sun, also features the Diamondbacks’ alternate logo of the snake with a baseball in it’s mouth. The red of the logo really pops on the teal and the black and white accents of the logo really pull the entire hat together. Overall, this hat appeals to the younger fans across baseball and gives off great spring training vibes while providing a really clean look.

Mets Bring Fun-Filled Hat to St. Lucie
Last year, the Mets’ hat featured their normal hat logo of the interlocking N & Y. This year, this hat is nowhere close to that— featuring an incredible logo that brings out the fun in baseball. Rather than using an alternate logo like most teams, the New York Mets’ 2025 Spring Training cap features their mascot, Mr. Met as the logo. The hat has a orange base with a blue bill, again bringing out the team’s alternate color while still connecting to the team. Now, the best part of the hat, the logo is similar to the Mets’ 2016 Spring Training hat, which featured Mr. Met’s full body while running. This year however, the hat only features his head— and he is donning some bright orange sunglasses to both shield his eyes from the bright Florida sun and to provide some style to the iconic mascot. Overall, this hat is great, providing a clean look while bringing more fun to the game and giving off Grapefruit League vibes. As a result, this is no doubt the best hat in the entire collection for 2025 and arguably one of the best hats we have ever seen in Spring Training.

All in all, this year’s Spring Training hat collection is really good, with some great hats returning from 2024 along with some amazing new designs added to the collection this year. These hats bring vibrant looks to the field while also providing us with a clean and fun look, which shows us what Spring Training is all about.
They look great to me!
As someone who follows a lot of Japanese baseball, the Dodgers D cap always makes me grin. The Chunichi Dragons, who have long had verrrrrrry Dodgers-like uniforms, used to wear a similar cap. Tom Selleck wears one in Mr Baseball (1992), but the producers of the movie changed the caps on the posters to not upset the Dodgers. So now when I see Ohtani, Yamamoto, et al in the D spring Caps I always think they've come a long way to end up with Chunichi. :)
