NLCS MVP Signs Extension With World Champs
In July, the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired UTIL Tommy Edman from the St. Louis Cardinals in a 3-team trade. The Dodgers had confidence that Edman would be able to return from a wrist injury that prevented him from playing any games in the season. When Edman returned, he didn't disappoint. In 37 regular season games, Edman hit .237/.294/.417 with 6 homeruns and 20 RBIs. Then, it was to the postseason for L.A., and Tommy Edman was amazing. In the playoffs, Edman hit .328 with 2 homeruns and 13 RBIs. This incredible performance led to Edman being named the 2024 NLCS MVP & helped the Dodgers win the World Series. Because of this amazing performance, Edman recently signed a 5-year, $74 million extension with the Dodgers that includes an option for the 6th year. This extension keeps Edman in Los Angeles until at least 2029, possibly into 2030.
