Spring Training usually has many injuries. The most notable injuries so far into 2024 Spring Training are Kodai Senga, Ronald Acuna Jr., Kyle Bradish, Cedric Mullins, Lucas Giolito, Kenley Jansen, Vaughn Grissom, Ian Happ, Justin Verlander, Brandon Marsh, Emmet Sheehan, Gerrit Cole, Nathaniel Lowe, Walker Buehler, & Josh Jung.
On Feb. 9, 2024, Brandon Marsh underwent a successful arthroscopic debridement surgery on his left knee. After the surgery, Marsh was expected to return on or right before Opening Day. However, Marsh made a speedy recovery from the surgery and made his 2024 Spring Training debut on Mar. 13 vs Detroit. This is great news for Marsh and the Phillies in hopes he will be back to normal before Opening Day,
However, Gerrit Cole and the Yankees have not been so fortunate. Cole recently underwent an MRI on his right elbow. After the MRI, the New York Yankees said he would not pitch until his elbow was completely fine. On Mar. 13, the same day Marsh came back from his surgery, Cole visited with a expert surgeon, Neal ElAttrache, who looked at his elbow. As a result, the Yankees released Cole would be out until at least 1-2 months into the regular season.
