Phillies Verbally Agree to Sign Acuña
Kenny Acuña, Brother of Ronald Acuña Jr Signs with Phillies in 2028!?
There are many great families of MLB players such as the Holliday family, featuring Matt Holliday & the current No. 1 Overall Prospect in the MLB, Jackson Holliday. However, there is another baseball family that stands out, the Acuña family.
The Acuña familly features Ronald Acuña Jr., Ronald Acuña Sr., Luisangel Acuña, & Kenny Acuña. Ronald Acuña Jr of the Atlanta Braves is MLB Networks’s No. 1 player for 2024, & has hit a career .292 with a .918 OPS. Acuña Jr. also recorded the first ever to have a 40-70 season in 2023. Ronald Acuña Sr. played in the minor leagues for a few years for numerous teams but never made it passed AA. Luisangel Acuña was signed by the Rangers as an International Free Agent but was traded to the New York Mets at the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline in exchange for Max Scherzer & hasn’t made his MLB Debut yet. However, the Acuña family still has a young superstar on the rise in Kenny Acuña.
Kenny Acuña is predicted to be around 12/13 years old based on his recent agreement with the Phillies. Kenny Acuña verbally agreed to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2028 when he is eligible to be signed by an MLB team. Now, players from international countries are allowed to sign with Major League Baseball teams after the player turns 16 years of age. With Kenny Acuña saying he will sign with the Phillies as an international free agent in 2028, it brings us to a conclusion that Acuña must be around 12 to 13 years old.
Kenny Acuña must have incredible skill and potential for such a talented team as the Phillies to agree to sign a player when the player is barely even a teenager. With this agreement, all 3 Acuña brothers will be in the same MLB division (NL East). Ronald Acuña Jr. with the Atlanta Braves, Luisangel Acuña with the New York Mets, & Kenny Acuña with the Philadelphia Phillies. Hopefully one day we will get to see Ronald Acuña Jr. play against his little brother in the NLDS or even just a divisional match up.
