Blake Snell Signs with the SF Giants

Finally, after around 5 months after becoming a free agent, Blake Snell has signed with a team. Many teams were in the mix of signing the 2023 NL Cy Young winner, including, the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, & Houston Astros. Around 2 weeks into Spring Training, the Houston Astros were said to be heavily pursuing Snell as he still was yet to ink a deal and they quickly became favorites to sign him. However, on Mar. 19, 2024, Blake Snell agreed to sign with the San Francisco Giants.

Snell agreed to a 2-year, $62 million with the San Francisco Giants per MLB.com on March 19. Throughout his 12-year career, Snell has pitched for the Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Padres. Over these 12 years, Snell has posted a 3.20 ERA while going 71 and 55 with a 1.24 WHIP.

Adding Blake Snell is likely a great addition for the San Francisco Giants. With Snell being in the bay for the next two season, he will most likely be at the top of the Giants' rotation as he is one of the best pitchers in the league right now, winning the 2023 NL Cy Young Award. In summary, the San Francisco Giants signed LHP Blake Snell to a 2-year, $62 million deal and will most likely looking for another incredible year of Blake Snell on the mound.
