The 2024 MLB Season has Officially kicked off with the first game of Spring Training being completed. To kick off Spring Training, the Padres hosted the Dodgers on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona. The Dodgers proved just how good they will be this season by putting up 8 runs just within the top of the 1st on San Diego’s starting pitcher, Joe Musgrove. Los Angeles later put up 6 more runs throughout 8 innings to secure a win over the Padres. However, The Friars did get one run on the board in Peoria. This single run came from a solo home run by Jake Cronenworth in the bottom of the 4th.
Even though this game was complete blowout, Dave Roberts and the Dodgers still had a rookie pitcher starting the game plus, Freddie Freeman & Shohei Ohtani didn’t play a single inning.
This is a very interesting way for the MLB season to start. Although it’s only Spring Training, this just proves why the Dodgers will be so good this year, defeating the Padres 14-1 to kick off the 2024 MLB season.
