On July 9, 2023 in Seattle, Washington, the Texas Rangers selected Wyatt Langford, an outfielder from Florida with the fourth overall pick in the draft. Since then, Langford has exploded in the Minor Leagues. According to MLB.com, Langford is the sixth best prospect on the MLB Top 100 Prospects list for 2024 & he is expected to be called up to play for the 2023 World Series Champion, Texas Rangers during 2024.
During Langford’s time in the minors, he has hit .360 with a .480 OBP & a 1.157 OPS. If you didn’t know, these are incredible offensive stats. In addition to his great offensive skill, Langford is very good at defense as well. Langford’s main position is left field but he can also play center field as well as right field.
