Shoehi Ohtani can do it all. Throw 100 of the mound, hit balls 400+ feet, & swipe bags like it’s nothing. Even if he can do all of this, is he the best player in baseball right now? What about in baseball history?
Is Shohei Ohtani the Best Player of All-Time?
Shohei Ohtani. The first two-way star we have seen on the big league level in a really long time. Even though Ohtani is only DH’ing this season, he has hit over 50 homeruns & stolen over 50 bags. Giving him the first ever 50/50 season in MLB history. Because Ohtani is the first to be able to hit & pitch at as high of a level as he is playing, the question many baseball fans have been asking is, is Ohtani the Best Player of All-Time? Some people think so, some don’t. So, let’s discuss Ohtani’s level of play.
This year is the first of Ohtani’s record-breaking 10-year, $700 million deal he signed with the Dodgers this offseason. Even though Ohtani is not pitching this season, as a result of his Tommy John procedure he underwent around a year ago, Shohei is still making history. On Thursday night, Ohtani went 6 for 6 with two stolen bases, 3 homeruns, & a total of 10 RBIs to help lead the Dodgers to a 20-4 win vs the Marlins.
