We are more than halfway through the 2024 MLB Playoffs & down to only 4 teams. Today, we will be looking at the remaining teams in the playoffs & possible World Series matchups!

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers entered this season as the favorites to win the World Series & were the favorites going into the playoffs. This star-studded team with players like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, & Teoscar Hernandez could definitely win it all this year. After receiving the number 1 seed & the wild card bye, the Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres in 5 games in the NLDS & look to defeat the New York Mets in the NLCS in the next few days.

New York Mets

The Mets barely got into the playoffs, clinching after they beat the Braves in game 161. However, after beating the Brewers in the wildcard round & upsetting the Phillies in the NLDS, the Mets look to advance to the World Series as the last seed in the NL by defeating the Dodgers in the NLCS. However, Lindor, Alonso, & Mark Vientos will need the rest of the team to help them out if they are going to upset the Dodgers & sweep them in the final two games of the series in LA.

New York Yankees

The Yankees have been one of the best teams in the league this year. An offense this features Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, & Jazz Chisholm Jr. plus a great defense with players such as Austin Wells, Alex Verdugo, & Anthony Volpe. After beating the Royals in the ALDS, the No. 1 seed in the American League can reach the World Series with a ALCS victory over the Cleveland Guardians.

Cleveland Guardians

The number two seed in the American League has surprised everyone. Going into the season nobody thought the Cleveland Guardians would be in this spot, but they are. A team led by Jose Ramirez, Steven Kwan, & David Fry eliminated the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS & is currently facing the New York Yankees in the ALCS with a chance to advance to the World Series for the first time since 2016, when they lost to current Yankees’ player, Anthony Rizzo & the Chicago Cubs.
